A Colorful Summer

You may have noticed that the majority of the photography I do is in black and white. I do shoot some color film though and I have noticed that it tends to be in the Summer months that I do so.

I think that, especially living in Glasgow, the Summer is the best time to shoot color as during Spring, Autumn and Winter everything is so grey there's no point trying to capture colors.

Of course, we only get a couple weeks of Summer each year so that's not a lot of time to shoot! I made a book with my favorite 35 (should have been 36, oops) color film images from last year and I'm also thinking about adding a Colorful Summer map to my Through Another's Eyes site as I do think I shoot differently when I shoot color.

Through Another's Eyes

Through Another's Eyes is my attempt to show other's see their surroundings. Initially showcasing my work and then hopefully expanding to include other photographers I hope Through Another's Eyes makes people more aware of their surroundings by showing them places they are familiar with in a new light.

Through Another's Eyes has it's own website.

Please get in touch if you'd like to contribute.

Tower-blocks

In this project I am amassing a collection of images of all the tower-blocks in Glasgow.

GHA (Glasgow Housing Association) has reportedly waged war on the tower-block and plans to demolish them all by 2020.

My approach has been inspired by the work of the Bechers and aims to provide an objective record of multi-storey living in the early 21st century.

Time - Digital pinhole series

Traditional pinhole equipment crosses paths with modern digital capture and atypical techniques to create images which challenge notions of time and of the basis of photography.

The subjects of these images are things which are intrinsically bound by time and it's passage, the treatment renders each of these subject equally impenetrable and the viewer is free to interpret the images as they wish.

There is also a book of the images available through Blurb.
